You may know that if you’re looking to improve the appearance of your smile, dental veneers can help. As you may also know, dental veneers are thin shells that can be fused to your teeth to improve the appearance of your smile. Fortunately, if you care for your veneers well, you may be able to enjoy their benefits for years to come. Today we would like to share with you a number of things you may be able to do make your veneers last even longer.
As you’ve probably guessed, you should brush and floss every day. However, please remember to brush for two minutes at a time twice a day. Similarly, you should consider using a non-abrasive toothpaste. For instance, you may want to consider using a toothpaste designed for individuals with sensitive teeth.
It’s also important that you remember to not misuse your teeth. This means not biting down on ice, metal, your fingernails, or pens. Chewing on these items could chip your teeth–or crack your veneers. If this should happen, you’ll need to have your old veneers removed and have new veneers placed.
Similarly, please remember to limit your intake of certain drinks, such as alcohol and soda as they can harm your veneers. And finally, you will need to visit our dentist once every six months to make sure your veneers are in good shape.
